Dayton School Department anticipates completing the first round of radon testing by March 31, 2023. The testing is done in accordance with Title 20-A, §4013, which mandates statewide testing for radon air in all schools no later than October 1, 2025, and every five (5) years thereafter. Our schools have taken a proactive approach and will complete testing well before the required timeline. Results will be made available for review on the district website as they are received. Maine's radon air threshold is no more than 4 pCi per liter. The Department of Health and Human Services will submit a test results report from all school administrative units to the Legislature and the Governor.
